Omar Ali
Trained as a graphic designer and copywriter, Omar stumbled into theatre by accident a bit later in life, liked it, and decided to stick around for a while. His 12 years of experience doing theatre include acting, directing, and set design, with specific interest in Translation and Adaptation. Alongside his late father, Allahyarham Muhammad Ali Hashim, Omar took English classics, translated them into Bahasa Melayu, and adapted them to our local context. ‘Dato’ Seri’ (2016, 2018) was a script adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’, whilst ‘KANDANG’ (2017, 2019) was a stage adaptation of George Orwell’s novella, ‘Animal Farm’. A former resident director at klpac, Omar is currently shifting his focus towards teaching, training, and development.

Let’s groove with Teacher Nicholas to explore various high energy pop dance styles such as hip-hop, breaking, K-pop, urban choreo that can benefit people of all ages!
We are on a mission to get children off screens and get them excited about to move. Dancer cum choreographer Nicholas hopes to start ‘em young and cultivate a love for as well as interest in dancing in children and teenagers. And let’s not forget our adult friends – this is an excellent choice for a parent-child bonding programme too!
Students will be taught the correct way to warm up, musical rhythm, body coordination and exploring the iconic moves.
Come and start your dance journey while moving to the beautiful beats, as well as improve your fitness, build confidence and relieve your stress!
Teacher Nicholas Low
Nicholas is a multi talented dancer and choreographer. A Dean’s List Award recipient from University Malaya dance department, with a major in choreography, he has been dancing for over 15 years. He started learning ballet from a young age before eventually finding his passion in hip-hop dance when he joined his first competition. He also studied Malay folk dance, ethnic dance, contemporary, and Jazz during his degree programme in University Malaya. Nicholas’s achievements are top 8 in Labu-labi Freestyle Dance Battle, first runner-up for the Malaysian International Ballet Grand Prix, best contemporary artist in Ballet West contemporary dance workshop.

Let’s dive into the cultural immersion and authenticity in movement expression!
In this term, Teacher Zhaf offers a transformative blend of contemporary dance and traditional forms over 9 weeks with 2 hours per session. Participants will explore the fusion of styles, incorporating fluid contemporary techniques with the rich symbolism of traditional dance elements ( especially Southeast Asian). Dive into the cultural immersion, discovering the historical and artistic contexts that shape these vibrant traditions while fostering creativity and authenticity in movement expression.
This course prioritizes physical mastery, developing strength, flexibility, and coordination through choreographed sequences drawing from contemporary and traditional vocabularies. Moreover, it cultivates community connection, providing a supportive environment for diverse dancers to celebrate their shared passion and embrace the joy of movement across cultures.

Zhafir Muzani
Zhafir Muzani, was born in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, and grew up in Lahad Datu, Sabah. He is now residing in Kuala Lumpur. Zhafir is an art activist who has always wanted to explore the world of acting and dance. He started off as a freelance dancer and made his debut as a TV actor in an educational sitcom ‘Oh My English!’ while pursuing his passion in dance. He graduated with a Diploma in Film and Degree in Theatre from UiTM.
He has joined many competitions such as SHORT+SWEET Dance at klpac and PenangPAC and won ‘Best Male Dancer’ (2016, 2017,2018 & 2020) and Best Choreographer (2018 & 2020) . Besides that, he won the World Championship of Performing Arts (2011) in Los Angeles, USA, and also won in a few categories in dance and acting. He loves Javanese and Balinese dance and has traveled to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, to learn both art forms.
He also performed at Pasar Tari Kontemporer (PASTAKOM) in Riau, Indonesia (2019) and The 6th Asian Youth Theatre Festival in Cambodia (2022). Now he serves as an in-house Resident Choreographer and Actor with The Actors Studio.

Introduction to Hatha Yoga
Over the course of three months, participants will immerse themselves in the ancient practice of Hatha Yoga. Our experienced instructor will guide them through the fundamental postures (asanas) and the philosophy behind this holistic discipline. They’ll develop a deep understanding of the mind-body connection and its profound impact on overall health.
Arthritis Prevention
We understand the importance of joint health, especially in today’s sedentary work environment. Our workshop includes specialized exercises designed to prevent arthritis and alleviate joint pain. Participants will learn techniques to promote joint flexibility and reduce the risk of discomfort.
Breathing Exercises
Breathing is the gateway to relaxation, stress reduction, and heightened focus. Through dedicated sessions, attendees will master various pranayama (breathing) techniques that promote mental clarity, reduce stress, and boost energy levels.
Empowering Others

Harsvini Loganathan
A perpetual wanderer on a quest for life’s purpose. Her journey led her to the transformative world of yoga. As a practitioner, she has immersed herself in yoga’s spiritual depths, finding inner peace and purpose, and she continues to learn. Now, she is passionate about sharing these ancient wisdoms with others, guiding them on their spiritual journey. The course brings participants through the fundamentals of improvisation for the theatre and performance. Each workshop session, students will play theatre games and be introduced to acting and improvisation exercises that will push their boundaries, inviting them to go deeper into their intuition, work together with their fellow players and engage with the theatrical environment around them.
Work on turning fears into potentials for discovery, change the relationship between yourself and the audience, express ourselves without censorship from within and without. This course will begin to explore these fundamental principles of performance through play and the pursuit of solving acting problems on the stage.
This 15 hour course is structured for the seasoned actor who wants a refresher and a “back-to-basics” training in their career. Or beginning actors who are just beginning to find their artistic voice. Non-actors will also find the fundamental techniques introduced to them useful for their creative and interpersonal work.
This course centers experience as a main mode of teaching and participants are encouraged to come ready to play, discover, make mistakes, all the while learning useful skills for their creative development.

Jit Yang
Tung Jit Yang is a KL-based professional theatre performer and director, and was formerly Director-in-Residence at The Actors Studio, Malaysia.
He has a decade’s worth of experience making and teaching theatre all over Malaysia, and has done work internationally in Indonesia, Japan, Russia, and the USA.
He is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of Arts, earning his Bachelors in Fine Arts in Drama. He has trained in Shakespeare at RADA (London, UK), Improvisation at Second City (Chicago, USA), Commedia dell arte’ in Italy, Devising and Directing at Playwright’s Horizon, the Meisner Technique, Suzuki Technique, Laban for Actors, Williamson Technique, the Alexander Technique, and Clowning at the Meisner Studio.
He is an improviser and teacher of improv with AI:IA – Malaysia’s longest running improv comedy troupe; and has been on the faculty and part-time lectures at TUTAS, a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts programme by The Actors Studio & Taylor’s University, since it’s inception.

林天才老师
林老师是位多才多艺的导师。他毕业于马来西亚艺术学院纯美术水墨画科系，专攻中国水墨画、书法、篆刻、中西方美术史及美学，同时深入研究儒、释、道思想。2000年，他随郭逢春师父开始习练功夫，到了2009年，他成为马来西亚南洋少林高参门第二代传人。继续传承南洋少林的传统禅武功夫和文化。
Master LENG TIENG CHAI
Master Leng is a versatile mentor. He graduated from Malaysia Institute Of Arts majoring in Fine Arts. Specializing in Chinese ink painting, calligraphy, and more, he began martial arts training in 2000 under Master Guo Fengchun. In 2009, he became the second-generation inheritor as Head Coach of Nanyang Shaolin in Malaysia to uphold the tradition of Zen martial arts.

金师傅生于粤剧世家、拥有婉转悦耳的声音和卓尔不群的演艺才华。自幼便在香港开始她的演艺生涯 ，演出跑偏世界各地。在她移居到马来西亚之后，继续以动人演出获取众多观众的爱戴和掌声。拥有超过二十年的教学经验和超过五十年的粤剧演艺经验，金倩翘师傅创办了金倩翘艺术坊（KSK Art Crew) 和升平粤剧团，以推广这项即将被遗忘的广东文化和艺术。在2013年，金倩翘更以超群出众的才能和大胆创新的演出风格荣获BrandLaureate国际个人荣誉品牌奖以及粤剧大师的称号。她的成功更让她继续创出更多精彩的演出。
Madam KAM SIN KIEW
Awarded the titles of Grand Master and Doyenne of Chinese Opera by The BrandLaureate in 2013, Mdm Kam Sin Kiew is a natural-born Cantonese Opera artist. Influenced by her family’s legacy and possessing a captivating voice and innovative flair, she embarked on her journey in Hong Kong, later captivating Malaysian audiences. With over 20 years of teaching and 50 years of performing experience, she leads the Kam Sin Kiew Art Crew and Seng Ping Stage Show, dedicating her life to revitalizing Cantonese culture and art in Malaysia.
