It is not only singers who have to learn the art and craft of the human voice. Actors, teachers, public speakers, or anyone who has to use their voice to communicate an idea or an intention has to learn to master the skill of effective use of their voice. In this class, students will learn exercises that will benefit their voice, posture, and acting, with emphasis on vocal and emotional honesty. After all, in this day and age, you wouldn’t want to come across having a fake stagey voice, but rather one that is natural and honest.
David Lim is a regular guest teacher at The Actors Studio Academy @ klpac. He also works as a director and an actor, having recently directed the critically acclaimed play Cock at The Actors Studio @ Lot 10 and having starred in Angel of Utopia, a short film by BMW Shorties winner Nazim Esa. As a physical performer /choreographer, his works have been shown at places such as Cloth & Clef, The National Art Gallery, and Sama‐sama Guesthouse in Malacca. David trained in acting at the Atlantic Acting School in New York City & also with the faculty of the world renowned Moscow Art Theatre School.
