Nancy Lau was born in Malacca, Malaysia. She was graduated from Malaysian Institute of Art in 1989. She was a graphic designer and was also a graphic design lecturer in a number of art academies. She is now a children art educator with two centers under her care.
What started as pursue of personal fulfillment, art painting has also ignited her passion to retell stories that has been long kept in her memory. Therefore, it is no surprise to find her fond childhood experiences in village and seaside environment splendidly illustrated in her paintings. She works in a combination of oils and acrylics and has focused on landscape scenes, au plein painting and scenes of a bygone Malaysia. She uses the colors skillfully and judiciously which truly enhance the theme that she portrays in her works.
Her desire is to continuously use art as a channel to present the beauty and authentic nature of her beloved country to many people.
