Kabut in the Park is a platform for #Konmari warriors to connect with bargain seekers.
The idea is for sellers to get rid of good condition items that no longer spark joy or need, buyers to get a real bargain – and for everybody to be happy; all whilst reducing the waste of these “items” from piling up the landfills. So, even Mother Earth will be happy!
To enrich the experience for buyers and sellers, the Car Boot Yard Sale Events would be hosted at the car park of The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac) – a 118-year-old cultural icon within a park, with a lake view. Old is gold, indeed! Only a stone’s throw away from KL City Centre, and an easy 20 mins from Damansara / TTDI via Penchala Link, klpac is a not-for-profit arts organisation. Sellers are charged a minimal token that goes directly to helping to maintain the building. The Organiser does not take a single cent.
Sellers and Buyers are encouraged to enjoy the greens and natural scenery of the Venue. Feel free to bring a mat, some snacks, your kids (yes, for Sellers, your kids can be your “minions” to help you “promote” your goods) and then treat your “minions” and roll around on the grass throwing your own a picnic – after all the sales of the day is done. Meet and mingle with like-minded people.
Kabut in the Park hopes that this initiative will contribute to helping those who are embarking on their #zerowaste journey, and those in need of items but are unable to purchase at its retail price, at the same time creating a circular economy towards a better Earth.
Only once do we rid ourselves of the unnecessary clutter which could be a treasure for others, could we start to focus on the more important things in life.
