Publicist

If you love the arts, the art of communicating and the idea of bringing the arts to more people, join Malaysia’s only fully-integrated arts centre to develop both your passion and career.

As both the face as well as the heart and soul of our bustling arts centre, the publicist works closely with our art director, videographer cum content creator, marketing manager and donor relations manager to promote klpac, its offerings and the arts.

Job scope includes:
(a) Create and manage publicity campaigns for shows, events and courses presented / co-presented by klpac or its entities
(b) Primary media liaison in charge of press releases, media interviews and media monitoring
(c) Maintain klpac’s communication channels and platforms be it digital (e.g. website, social media etc) or on the ground
(d) Build and grow a strong community of followers and supporters comprising patrons, partners and other stakeholders
(e) Assist in other development and awareness programmes
(f) Ambassador / spokesperson for the company and ensure that the arts centre, its brand, people and offerings are shown in the best light possible

Qualifications
• At least 2 years working experience in marketing / communications / PR
• Strong communication skills and proficient in speaking and writing in English (BM and other languages added advantage)
• Social media marketing know-how, familiar with Canva & Meta
• Project / campaign management experience and organisational skills
• Possesses own vehicle
• Other related skills like basic photography / videography, presentation and reporting

Donor Relations Manager

If you are not only passionate about the arts but believe in its importance and are equipped with the skills to translate that into concrete support for klpac, then join our team as a Donor Relations Manager.

An integral part of klpac’s publicity and marketing team, the Donor Relations Manager drives and manages klpac’s fundraising campaigns and programmes. As a champion of our cause, the person also will work towards improving greater awareness and understanding of our work among external stakeholders like corporations while building a strong community of supporters for our non-profit organisation.
• To strategise an integrated and multi-channel fundraising framework for klpac that meets its funding needs
• To develop a short-term and long-term fundraising plan with set goals and an engaging fundraising calendar of activities all year round
• To run existing donor programmes and ensure that benefits promised to donors are fulfilled and they remain delighted with our offerings
• To tap into funding opportunities such as grants, subsidies and other in-kind resources
• To ensure the fulfillment of sponsors’ KPIs including reporting and documentation
• To grow klpac’s donor and sponsor base by devising and driving new fundraising programmes, activities and or events including potential fundraising partnerships
• To maintain donor & sponsorship records as well as track and report on fundraising initiatives and programmes
• To assist in other areas of publicity and marketing of klpac as and when needed

Candidate is required to have:
• At least 3 years experience in sales, marketing, business development or fundraising
• Warm personality and strong communications skills, both oral and written especially in English (BM will be an advantage)
• Familiar with Excel, data & finances as well as data visualisation, proposal-making and reporting using Canva
• Past project management and campaign experience dealing with partnerships, negotiations and contracts
• Ability to work independently including great organisational skills, attention to detail and problem solving skills as you will be running programmes / events

Assistant Production Stage Manager

• Coordination in production management and stage management of internal and collaboration productions that may include touring.
Realising the visions of the producer and the director within constraints of theatre and technical possibility.
• Create work schedules and ensure that work areas are properly equipped/maintained.
• Utilise resources for special projects, help to create a positive working environment.
• Ensuring a good working relationship with other departments within klpac.

Qualifications

At least 1 year working experience in production and/or stage management

Production Stage management experience and organisational skills

Front of House & Theatre Supervisor

Front of House (FOH), refers to areas of the building that the audience has access to, especially the auditorium and foyer (usually excluding stage and backstage). This is the area in which the job scope of the FOH personnel falls within.

Purpose of the Role :
1. To act as the point of welcome to klpac for both guest and hirer.
2. To offer the highest levels of customer service to patrons in person, by telephone and email.
3. To have an extensive knowledge of klpac products (shows, courses, events, merchandise items, venue rental)

Job scope includes:
• Ensure that the condition of all the FOH areas including Pentas is acceptable and clean
• Opening / closing of house (upon instruction by FOH Supervisor who is working closely together with Stage Manager)
• Overseeing traffic flow in / out of theatre (including ticket scanning, Bar)
• Manning the merchandise booth counter and overseeing sales of merchandise
• Ensure that patrons behave and do not violate rules & regulations
• Handle emergency situations
• Overall point-of-contact for patrons
• To hand out collaterals of upcoming productions at the end of the show and to encourage audience to fill up feedback form / feedback wall
• To assist departments in any official matters as and when deemed necessary
• To write minutes and notes on daily report and discussion of Theatre Management meetings
• To lead the Front of House team for all klpac’s production.
• To attend and answer courteously to queries by walk-in visitors. To conduct study-tour for student group.
• To liaise with the cleaners to ensure that all Public Areas are presentable and tidy i.e. Main Foyer, Pentas 1 & 2 Pre-function Foyers, Public Toilets, Surau, Emergency Stairs and all

Technician (sound, lighting & rigging)

klpac’s Technical Department is recruiting new team members on a freelance/contract basis.
• Have interest working in a theatre environment (sound, lighting, and rigging)
• Friendly, fast learner and creative thinker
• Able to work long hours according to production time-tables
• Possess own transport
• Dedicated, punctual and disciplined
• Some experience in technical production is an asset
