Founded by Dato’ Dr. Faridah Merican and Joe Hasham OAM, The Actors Studio Academy is a pioneer in arts education in Malaysia. Its alumni comprises theatre luminaries and the crème de la crème of the industry today.

With a clear pathway for children through to adults, learn from artiste-educators with hands-on experience in the industry and enjoy direct access to klpac’s full range of facilities.

Courses

Speech & Drama

The semester-based, year-long programme introduces students to the magic of storytelling, exercises their imagination, prepares them to perform for an audience in a group and by themselves.

We offer other short-term courses such as acting for beginners, as well as a fun-filled school holiday programme.

Working with Special Needs & Underprivileged Individuals

Our community outreach programme brings the magic of the performing arts to the underprivileged and marginalised communities. Through activities like free talks, theatre training and drama therapy, our outreach initiatives improve access to the arts, enrich lives, aid personal development and help individuals heal from trauma. 

Past beneficiaries include schools like SMK La Salle Sentul, SRK St. Joseph Sentul, SJK (T) Tamboosamy Pillay Sentul and SMK Convent Sentul; homes like Shelter Home, Good Shepherd, Montfort Girls & Montfort Boys, Rumah Solehah, Rumah Hope and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Angels; other charitable organizations like Cancerlink, YMCA, Beautiful Gate, and Spastic Children’s Association.

Studio Hire

A total of 5 studio spaces of various sizes and configurations can be rented for classes, workshops, auditions, rehearsals and team building events. Some are equipped with barre and mirrors for dance classes as well as a sound system and clavinova.
