Music is not only about theories and printed notes in the score. Join this workshop with Dinar Primasti for an interactive workshop exploring how dynamics, articulation, facial expression, and body gestures can bring choral music to life.

Music is not only about theories and printed notes in the score. Technical is vital as a foundation, but expression provides connection. Music should be able to touch people’s heart and sharing human experience. In the workshop, I will explain the importance of putting emotional interpretation and storytelling behind the notes.

The workshop will also focus on 4 main parts: dynamics, articulation, facial expression, and body gesture. I will do some practical things with the audience so that it helps them easier to understand. One of them is to sing together in different level of dynamics from 1 to 5, with 1 is the softest and 5 is the loudest. I might also use a video to sum up the material at the end of the workshop.
