The Noise We Hold in Our Hearts

We made a new album —
the noise we hold in our hearts.

The day we went for the interview,
the air was cold enough to keep us quiet. Everyone ordered coffee,
hands wrapped around the cups like anchors.

The shoot was by the river,
the photographer standing far away.
He said,

“It’s simple — just walk.
Stop when it feels right.”

So we walked.
We talked about the stage —
what to bring, how many amps to light up the air, what kind of sound would make the night breathe……

He kept taking pictures.
I wanted to know how it looked,
so I shouted across the wind,

“Is this okay?”

He called back,
“Keep walking.”

I asked,
“Should we look at the camera?”
But no one really heard anyone.

He waved his hand —
go on, go on.

I wanted to ask something else,
but in the end I just shouted,
“All good!”

That’s when I realized —
even walking isn’t simple.

When the sun went down,
we returned to where we began.

At the plaza,he said,
“This will be the last one.”

He took the picture.
We clapped.

I asked,
“Which one do you like best?”

He said,
“The last one.”

我們做了新專輯，心目中的噪音，我們去參加訪談，天氣很冷，大家點咖啡來喝，拍照地點在對面河堤，攝影師站得很遠，他說很簡單，只要一直走，偶爾停下，我們走，一邊聊天，聊演出要放什麼在台上，聊要用幾顆音箱。我們一直走，他一直拍，我想知道走得怎麼樣，就朝他大喊，這樣可以嗎，他說繼續走，我問要看鏡頭嗎，但沒人聽到對方，他揮手，要我們繼續走，我想問別的問題，最後大喊沒問題，我發現只是一直走也不容易。太陽下山後我們走回原地，我們走到廣場前，攝影師說現在是最後一張，他拍完，我們鼓掌，我問今天哪張拍得最好，他說剛剛那張最好。
