Outreach Youth Band 2026

What began as a labour of love to reconnect music educators and musicians in the aftermath of the pandemic has since grown into a significant movement involving a broader segment of the music community.

The 2026 edition of the Outreach Youth Band welcomes 46 talented musicians from Johor, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Sabah, Sarawak, and Selangor. These musicians will undergo intensive training leading up to a series of public concerts, conducted by Artistic Director Dr. Low Chee Meng (UCSI University), resident conductor Mohd Mustaqim bin Abdullah (UPSI) and distinguished guest conductor Mr, Louis Yeo (the Wind Academia, Singapore). The concerts will also feature trumpet soloist Agnes Lau Hui Ping.

The 2026 concert programme offers a vibrant and international repertoire, featuring works by American, Japanese, and composers from Southeast Asia.

This project is made possible through the generous support of CG Flute Academy, The Flute Store, Koje Reeds, EP Winds, The Band Store, Saxophone Library, The Percussion Store, UCSI University, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), and The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center (klpac).
