Alice@Wonderland - Speech & Drama Programme 2023 Final Showcase

The Actors Studio Academy @ klpac is proud to present Jonathan Yukich’s “Alice@Wonderland” as part of its Speech & Drama 2023 Final Showcase, its first major showcase since the pandemic which brings together all 12 classes of its programme. Under the helm of Academy Head Kimmy Kiew, and directors – Jeremy Ang, Axyr William, Tung Jit Yang and Phraveen Arikiah – 85 students aged 7 to 18 will be featured in this modern retelling of a well-loved classic with a different cast for each performance.

Think Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in the Wonderland but transported to the 21st Century and presented with a modern twist. Not only can you look forward to the well-known story and well-loved characters including the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and the Queen of Hearts but a modernised Alice who is texting and tweeting away with a tonne of modern-day and social media references. Sharp, witty and humorous, this modern take is a hit with today’s generation and is a winner of the Shubert Fendrich Memorial Playwriting Contest.

Speech & Drama Programme
The Actors Studio Academy @ klpac’s popular Pre-School Speech & Drama Programme (3 to 6 years old) and Speech & Drama Programme (7 to 18 years old) runs all year round with three semesters per year and a choice of Saturday and Sunday classes. ABOUT The Actors Studio Academy
Founded by Dato’ Dr. Faridah Merican and Joe Hasham OAM, The Actors Studio Academy is a pioneer in arts education in Malaysia.

The Academy’s very first class in 1992 comprised theatre luminaries and the crème de la crème of the industry today such as Tiara Jacquelina Eu, Patrick Teoh, Leslie Dawson, Ramli Hassan, Jeffery Nicholson and Fawziah Nawi.

Students from as young as three years old have a clear pathway to grow with us, learn from artiste-educators with hands-on experience in the industry and enjoy klpac’s full-fledged professional facilities.

Besides its year-round Speech and Drama programmes, the Academy also customise specialist training programmes for arts groups, schools, drama teachers as well as corporates under its corporate training arm. It also conducts outreach programmes for the underprivileged and underserved.
