WEEK OF THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD“Don Giovanni, the metaphysical libertine”, talk by Andrea Paduano and performance by KLCO Singers

To celebrate the 25th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, by the theme “Italophony: Language Beyond Borders”, and as an introduction to the Kuala Lumpur City Opera staging of the “Don Giovanni” the following week, Andrea Paduano will be talking about the figure of the protagonist, “Don Giovanni, the metaphysical libertine”. During the event, Kuala Lumpur City Opera singer will perform some of the Don Giovanni arias.

Focusing on the powerful collaboration between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Italian librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte, the presentation examines how Don Giovanni becomes a symbol of freedom, going beyond social norms.
