In every song created by Dato’ Zainalabidin, there is always the message and the obvious presence of his love for humanity and the environment through his lyrics. His world music genre has placed him to an international standard of performer in our country. This concert is a celebration of Dato’ Zainalabidin’s success and contribution in the music industry. This Sound Spirit concert with a collaboration of big band and traditional instruments lead and composed by one of the most renowned musical director, Michael Veerappen. This prestigious edutainment concert is targeted for music students to learn, explore and experience the world class musicians to share their musical journey and experiences.

ABOUT DATUK ZAINALABIDIN
Dato’ Zainalabidin is famed for his unique musical style which he is so often associated with the Afro-Asian sound. This unique sound became a new element in the Malaysian music industry created by Dato’ Zainalabidin himself. The strength in the melodious musical compositions of Dato’ Zainalabidin have yet to be classified in a genre or particular style of music thus his music stands alone and unchallenged, Dato’ Zainalabidin’s music is not only acceptable by society in general but is also at times been a source of inspiration to the people of Malaysia.

Acceptance towards his music is phenomenal not only in Malaysia but internationally as well and managed to successfully shake the music industry via their first concert and the biggest concert in Malaysia named Ikhlas followed by a tour of Japan in 1993 through 1995 wherein it has successfully managed to elevate Dato’ Zainalabidin’s name as the best concert entertainer in Malaysia.

Phil Collins, who invited Dato’ Zainalabidin to sing a musical composition by Phil Collins for the animated Walt Disney’s cartoon Tarzan in the Malaysian language. This was truly the highlight of his career and a personal achievement as from then on, Dato’ Zainalabidin was placed in the same category as internationally renowned world class artiste.
